n26 revolut bnext

A short pros and cons analysis between N26, Revolut and BNEXT

Even if we still have to count on cash because unfortunately the cashless revolution has just started, and much local business hasn’t switched to tech-payments, we have a multitude of alternatives in terms of online bank accounts and credit/debit cards that we have never had before.

As one of the Madridiana co-founders works in Fintech and is always answering to friends dilemmas about:

whose the best online bank account or debit card?

we have decided to prepare our very own view about the best debit cards, starting from our own experience with N26, Revolut and BNEXT.

As always, what is a priority for us (like the design) might not be a relevant feature for you, so we have evaluated different points, and for every card, we have a special bonus if you register from our referral link :)

Let’s start with the most famous.

1) N26 the german unicorn

Probably we all have seen at least an advertisement, online or offline, from the famous German brand N26.

I’ve to be honest, when I started following at least 3 years ago the brand on social media I have always thought that the communication was too corporate, maybe too cold, especially when compared to the second card I am going to mention later.

But later on, they have differentiated the brand with a more informal tone of voice and a very cool campaign.

As mentioned the company is German, so the IBAN of your account will be german (starting with DE) but they are launching new national IBAN for each country, Spain, for example, has already the ES bank accounts.

PROS ✔️

  • Free withdrawal with no limit amount with the free card
  • The exchange rate with no commission
  • Apple pay and Google pay configuration available
  • Free bank transfers in Europe
  • The customer service is really helpful and has many options of contact

CONS

  • The only available option to fund your account is bank transfer or with Cash26 by cash, but it is not that widespread to be considered an advantage
  • The saving option called Spaces doesn’t have an automatic option, you have to build it manually.

The N26 basic account is free, you won’t have advantages in the shipping. Right now there are no available bonus for new registration.

2) REVOLUT hacking the system

From Germany to the UK, the second credit card that we have analyzed, but actually the first one we have tried is Revolut. The second unicorn of the list and a very interesting marketing case because they have launched without spending big budget like the other competitors, no banners, no advertising, just hacking the growth with a smart and transparent way of communicating with their prospects, mostly based on emojis.

PROS ✔️

  • Free bank transfers in Europe
  • The round-up system that helps you so micro savings in every purchase (Vaults)
  • Fund your account with bank transfer, credit/debit card or PayPal (a very good and unique option)
  • Apple pay and Google pay configuration available
  • Buy cryptocurrency through the application

CONS

  • The new trading free of commission feature is only available for premium accounts
  • With the free account, you can only withdraw 200€ a month
  • The exchange rate with commissions during the weekends (when the stock exchanges are closed)
  • The pride card was a limited edition card, I got mine, but I think it should be a standard card.

We’ll both gain 10€ if you register from my referral link, sounds great right? You just need to do the identification process and order your card for free, you won’t have shipping costs with this link ➡️  https://revolut.com/referral/diana3l1!G10D21

3) BNEXT viva España

BNEXT is the Spanish online credit card, not so famous outside Spain, but if you live in Spain it’s quite a good option.

Actually, being active in the Fintech ecosystems meetups and event, don’t actually remember when, but we have met a few years ago the team members of BNEXT and have started following their path since then.

They have won lot’s of prices in Spain for emerging payment service and innovative Fintech, everyone loves BNEXT.

Expect for being fuchsia and not presenting any premium version, the card is completely free but in order to receive it, you have to make the first transfer on your account.

It is probably the card I’ve used the most, there is a minimum amount for the transfer of 25€ and the deposit is extremely quick, I usually charge it just when I actually need it and queuing to pay in a shop/bar.

Probably is not the best option while traveling, but living in Spain there are several advantages for choosing BNEXT

PROS✔️

  • BNEXT is a Visa card, maybe it’s not an advantage but if you, for example, want to have different circuits, the others are all Mastercard
  • A new pro version is coming soon
  • All the cashback and discounts for phone insurance, travel insurance and so on.

CONS

  • Only have 3 free withdraw each month and a maximum of 500€ (than you pay 1.15% of the commission in the EU and 1.5% in the US)
  • Also for traveling you have a limited expense of 2.000€ for free, then you pay 1.15% of the commission in the EU and 1.5% in the US
  • You need to fund your account with at least 25€ in order to receive the card
  • The app is Spanish and so far only available in Spanish.

There is a nice referral program, a few times a year they also usually rise the bonus up to 10€, but the ordinary one is 5€ for both if you register from this link and order a free card from BNEXT ➡️ https://share.bnext.es/391720756

4) More and more coming soon

More reviews coming soon to complete my ranking with Bunq, Transferwise and Monese, whose applications are already on the “Bancos” folder in my phone. I wish my favorite Fintech of all the time, Nubank, a Brazilian challenger bank worth $10 billions will be available in Spain in order to try it and rate it.

Madrid is a city full of colours, and we all know, from the metro station to the barrio decoration, which is the rainbow district in Madrid: Chueca.

We wish that this article will be a guide in honour of the World Pride Madrid 2017 that we are more than proud to have in town this year.

Chueca has turned into one of the most lively barrio in Madrid, for sure we have reviewed more bars and restaurant in Chueca than in all the other districts. Calle Pelayo for the restaurants and Calle Reina for the bars are as good as Calle Ponzano or Calle Cava Baja.

If you are in Chueca for the Orgullo and don’t know the city, don’t worry, you can find all you need between Calle Hortaleza and Gran Via.

1)Best Paella: Socarrat

The first thing everyone asks in in Spain is “Where is the best paella?” well, guess what, it’s in Chueca, the restaurant is called Socarrat and it’s real Valencian traditional receipt, the Paella de la Abuela, Paella Valenciana, Paella Vegetariana and much more.

It’s open just for lunch, it’s a tiny take away spot with some tables. Try also the craft beer made in Valencia named as the local. It’s open just for lunch, because paella was born for that specific meal.

SocarratCalle San Marcos, 2, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 663 43 91 10

2) Best international restaurant: diurno

If you know madridiana you will remember the diurno article and posts on social media, we are in love with this place and it’s our first suggestion when friends are in town and want to have a tasty lunch or dinner in a beautiful space. The lunch menu is perfect and you can either try spanish food or international quality dishes. It’s a well known location, a meeting point in barrio also for breakfast and the traditional afterwork.

DIURNO [Madrid] – Calle de San Marcos, 37, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 915 22 00 09

3) Best japanese restaurant: Sr. Ito

And here we are in Calle Pelayo, it’s such a nice street that it is good to have a pleasant excuse like dining in Sr. Ito for walking almost until Alonso Martinez. This is not the typical japanese restaurant, if you are a all you can eat sushi consumer, this is not your place. Sr. Ito in Chueca is the place for beauty lovers and slow life living. The decoration is incredible, we talk a lot about this place in dedicated article where you can see all the dishes, especially the cake, impressive.

Sr. Ito – Calle Pelayo, 60, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 910 81 66 15

4) Best Galician Restaurant: Morgana

Opened less than two month ago and it’s already a hit. The place is tiny but there is no place like Morgana to try galician food with a twist. The owners are Miguel, the chef in the kitchen and Augusto, at the bar making great tailor made cocktails. The ambient is nice, both the higher tables at the beginning and the lighted room with paintings and sculptures. If you are wondering where to have a real smashy tortilla, with the original liquid inside, this is your place.

Morgana – Calle de Augusto Figueroa, 33, 28004 Madrid

5) Best Italian Restaurant: Fratelli d’Italia

We are huge consumers of Fratelli d’Italia pizza in barrio Lavapiés, where there is not a restaurant like in Chueca Calle Hortaleza but a takeaway pizza spot that is a paradise for Italians missing a good pizza at a proper price. In Chueca Fratelli d’Italia it’s a pizzeria and a restaurant, but more than that it’s a Sardinian restaurant, where you can try really good pasta and fresh fish.

Fratelli d’Italia – Calle de Hortaleza, 28, 28004 MadridTel. 915 15 41 06

6) Best bocata: La casa tomada

If Calle Valverde is the west limit of Chueca instead of Calle Valverde, La casa tomada can definitely be included in this barrio. The best bocata in Madrid has Venezuelan blood and it’s address is Calle San Lorenzo 9. José Antonio the owner and chef of Casa Tomada is a perfectionist, his bocatas XXL are works of art. Even if they are so huge you can’t visit La casa tomada without starting your meal with a chili cheese fries, you better go with friends.

La casa tomada – Calle San Lorenzo, 9, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 915 13 84 48

7) Best asian restaurant: Tuk Tuk

Tuk Tuk in Calle Barquillo is one of the numerous Tuk Tuk restaurants opened in Madrid with the visionary idea of sharing the best asian street food from Bangkok, India, Philippines, and Vietnam.

We have been to Barquillo and Alcalà which is the newer, and widely discussed about how much we are in love with the sexy baos and the delicious pad thai or hokkien.

8) Best east european restaurant: Khachapuri

Khachapuri is a discovery, it’s a typical Georgian restaurant in the middle of Chueca. It’s a mono product restaurant serving that Georgian pizza with eggs in a middle and a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of melty cheese, and it’s mandatory that you enjoy the khachapuri with the hands piece after piece. For this multi sensorial tasting experience and nice modern atmosphere of the restaurant, it’s a worth visiting restaurant. Read more in this article.

Khachapuri – Calle de Víctor Hugo, 5, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 916 68 38 65

9) Best cerveceria: Källa

Recently opened in Calle Barbieri, in the heart of Chueca, Källa is not just a cerveceria, it is also a beer factory, with a nordic name and simple style, even if the owners are two venezuelan entrepreneurs. This hybrid space of a bar and a factory offers three variety of crafted beer branded Källa Origen (IPA), Ritual (ALE) and Esencia (Lager), with an additional offer of beers from Madrid and other locations.

Källa – Calle de Barbieri, 20, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 915 21 01 32

10) Best cocktail bar: Angelita

Angelita Madrid has one of the best cocktails in Madrid because of its craftsmanship. This The accuracy that Borja and Jose Luis put in the preparation of each cocktail, they way you see it served looks more like a work of art rather than a cocktail.

Not to mention the fact that the service should be a benchmark in town, when you seat you already have your fresh water and a little sweet tapa well presented in a tiny box or a box of popcorn.

Angelita – Calle Reina, 4, 28004 Madrid – Tel. 915 21 66 78

+ The latest openening Som Thai Club

In the already mentioned Calle San Marcos a new space has just opened, it’s called Som-Thai and it has a special gastro-barra: the Som Thai Club, offering tapas for less than 2€ that are perfect to pair with a cerveza muy fria. For all the oriental food lovers or for those you want to try it, this tapas are the greatest because they reflet the Thailandese culture.

Restaurante tailandés Som-Thai – Calle San Marcos, 26, 28804 Madrid – Tel. 910 410 429

Carrefest is over and if you miss it, well, it was a great and unique occasion to see tremendous artists like Alvaro Soler and Bombai for free.

I had to chance to be there and I am already saying to all my friends that next year they should not miss it.

What I really like about the event is the all festival organization, because it’s not just a free concert it’s a stage for artists that might not have the chance to share their vision with other incredible bands.

Venturi, Señor Nadye, Hickeys and Alejandra, the winners and finalists of the Carrefest competition were acting like rockstars on the stage, and they had already crowded groups of groupies over the public.

You don’t have any idea of how many selfies I saw shooting with the guys from Venturi.

2017 was the third edition, we all know how precious is for young musician to have such an important contest where the power of deciding who is going to perform at the final event is given to the public, to us, this is priceless.

We all have a friend who is a songwriter, who is part of a group since he was a kid or an angelic voice that we know and wish that everybody else can discover sooner or later.

Carrefest is this, an opportunity.

Carrefest is a greater opportunity also because it’s a gipsy project, this year in almost two months, 73 recording sessions and 672 songs spread around three different cities (Madrid, Bilbao and Sevilla), the festival has reached a wider public, with more than 60.000 votes.

The Music truck is such an amazing idea, a recording studio inside a truck, the ultimate idea for sharing music with a professional sound.

Only a innovative company like Carrefour with its hundreds of supermarkets in Spain was able to promote a develop such an important celebration for music.

More information: Carrefest.

Mulafest is the festival of arts, of many arts, in many forms.

It’s a paradise for creative and curious people.

Mulafest is where the magic happens.

It’s art for the skin with the tattoo convention and art for musical notes in the form of concerts.

Visit Mulafest not just as a passive walker in a fair, Mulafest is also workshops, masterclass, learning how to customize your car with aerography for example.

In its sixth edition it’s definitely an unmissable event for 2017, because it’s not just a festival, it’s a frame around the future trends that start from the streets, the urban culture, the one that the cool hunters are studying and trying to understand everyday.

Only three days, from Friday 30th of June until the 2nd of July, the location is of course the official fair of Madrid Ifema, that now has it’s homonymous metro station.

Tattoo lovers, motor lovers, arts lovers, groupies and a cool space also for food, with a street food area where the best street food trucks have been gathered all together in a special location designer by the architects from Zuloark.

The Isla gely will be the chilling point for mainly music and Street food. Let me write “Finally a playa in Madrid”, it was the only thing missing in this gorgeous city.

Mulafest is a celebration of art but also for love, because especially this year it takes place in the love week, the orgullo, that this year is a worldwide celebration in town.

There is will a special art exhibition dedicated to erotism, and also screenplays dedicated to sexuality will be screened in those three days.

Art mixes with performance and becomes theatrical, another type of art celebration in Mulafest, pointing the importance of diversity in the art world.

The documentaries #VICELGTBQ will be previewed expressing stories of different people around the world, from Spain to the USA, Russia, Albania and México, how these people deal with sexual problem, though the eye of VICE.

Summer means festival.

It’s hard to chose where to go every weekend in Madrid or around Spain.

And it’s even harder to decide how to spend money, who is the priority.

When instead the concert is for free, and it’s in Madrid, and has super well-known artists like Alvaro Soler and Bombai, well, in this case the only thing I can say is:

“What are you waiting for? Get those free tickets now!”

carrefest

I was listening to my Spotify playlists when I discovered about this event and I couldn’t believe such a nice festival could be free.

I immediately got my tickets registering to the website few weeks ago and I can’t wait to attend the event, I share it with all my friends and I know it’s going to be so cool.

I am a huge fun of those two big names but I am also really supportive with new names, like the guys that won the Carrefest Music Talent.

I am obsessed with talent show and I really liked the opportunity that this free festival gives to the new generation of musicians and singers.

During the Carrefest music talent format, judges and the audience have the same power, because the winners are decided by both of them.

It’s a band contest and Venturi was crowned as the judges winner while SeñorNadye was chosen by the audience of the festival, thanks to this new winning category introduced for the first time in this new edition of the Carrefest.

More than 130 bands were participating this year, for the professional jury composed by Universal Music, Los 40 and Carrefour, it was really hard to choose only one winner.

But Venturi with the song Paro mi caballo convinced everyone, with the indie rock sound made in Madrid.

The date is really close, it’s Saturday 24th of June, where the winners of the talent show and the big names (Álvaro Soler and Bombay) will share the stage of the Carrefour Fest.

The location is the Carrefour supermarket in Móstoles, metro station Móstoles-El Soto.

It’s really cool to see how this new edition of the Carrefest has gone so far, especially for the participation of the bands and the audience.

This Saturday the bands will be live in Carrefest and as soon as possible we will hear them in our Spotify playlists.

If you need another reason because the previous one where not enough, well, maybe this Alvaro Soler picture will help you.

I would never have imagined to find near Madrid a place like that. I didn’t have any idea that not so far from Madrid city centre I could have found such a special place like Casa Mónico.

Casa Mónico is a spectacular Herrerian style manor was built in 1946 by Secundino Zuazo, precisely located in a garden of more than 30.000 km, with a capacity of 600 people seated or 800 hundred standing, recently renewed to became the greatest location for fairytale events in Madrid.

casa monico finca madrid

In Casa Mónico the ancient meets the modern, the restoration has kept all the precious architecture and style of the original design, the idea in fact was to give a refresh without losing the iconic structure design.

Every place tells a story, and I love to write down story, especially when the protagonist is an historical location like Casa Mónico, where we’ll all be celebrating marriages and parties, this summer and for all the following seasons.

So, what’s the story behind Casa Mónico?

casa monico finca madrid

The story of Casa Mónico begins in the United States of America, with Carlos Albert, the son of the marqueses de Alhucemas, travelling to New York in 1940. He was so fascinated by one of the first luxury restaurants of United States credited with being the first American restaurant to allow patrons to order from a menu à la carte, unlike the restaurants of that epoch, it’s name was Dalmonico.

Evidently Mr. Carlos Albert wanted to honour this innovative american restaurant by opening his own version with the name inspired to that first mover and subsequently Casa Mónico.

Many things have changed in 77 years of restaurant, catering and event business, but the spirit that the founder put in its work as always been the same, innovating and never settling.

casa monico finca madrid

Without any doubts this location is a privileged place for those who are looking for a different site where celebrate a special occasion. With versatile spaces according to the needs of every event it has been one of the first fincas of Madrid dedicated to the celebrations of events.

It offer a personalized and made-to-measure menus for every kind of guest, because along the years they have built a network of professionals that represent the best of for every production, not only referring to food, but to the whole organization, from the bakery to the towels.

This very special tailor made service is even much more personalized if you considered all the types of events that can be held in Casa Mónico. Starting from the classic catering to original presentations, where the staff can show their best creativity skills, with entertainment for example, this chameleonic space can be transformed in many ways.

Catas and show cooking where food and drinks are protagonists are always pleasant experiences for the attendees, that’s why those two offers are also part of the incredible activities that can be designed and developed in such an amazing location.

The fact that it is so close to Madrid is making Casa Mónico well known for being the ultimate relaxed place to escape from the city without going out of it.

In this place is really possible to relax and recharge, so that we have written down five reasons why you should visit and revisit Casa Mónico:

  1. The location. A peaceful place surrounded by nature a few steps away from Madrid city center
  2. The combination. A perfect mix of tradition and innovation
  3. The quality. Selecting the best professionals for each service and production.
  4. The offer. They do not offer only the classic event setting, the possibilities are infinite.
  5. The experience. They can combine all those factors because of the experience. Every event is unique at Casa Mónico.

I got a tiny part of it, in the form of rasberry jam and tea, so that I can sip my morning breakfest dreaming about this wonderful place.

When you often eat outside and the carbs are always part of your meal, you might feel at a certain point that five letter word whispering at your years: deeeeeetooooooox, deeeeeeetooooooox.

I’ve listened them last week and gave a try to drink6 detox solutions. The name “drink6” is due to the basic pack of 6 juices that you have to consume as your normal daily diet meals.

I chose the 4 juices and 2 soups pack for one day on treatment, but you can choose between a great variety of solutions.

What is the difference between one or more days of drink6?

Well, drink6 is not a diet, you don’t lose weight, detox means to clean up the body, so this is what the program does. More days means more things that can be cleaned up.

From one to five days, the drink6 program is a substitution of the normal daily meals, from breakfast to dinner:

  • One day: if you follow the drink6 plan for one day, the detox plan will work in order to remove all excess toxins;
  • Three days: if you follow the drink6 plan for three days you will of course have the eliminations of the toxins as in the one day plan but three days it’s sufficient to clean also the blood;
  • Five days: this more complete plans adds to the first two results a complete restoration of the immunitary system.

It is not just a matter of drinking the juices, it is important to follow the rules and the order from zumo 1 to zumo 6, as well as the timing. Everything is written on the bottle, you can’t take them in the wrong order.

The most important thing to add is that they are totally 100% natural and fresh juices.

drink6 detox

Between all the different tastes I’ve tried, I have to admit that I was really impressed by the “manzana asada” taste which was number 2, “manzana asada” and pineapple, I’ve never tried a juice with the apple previously cooked and I really enjoyed it.

My second favourite was number 5, I thought there was ginger in it because of the spicy taste, but it is made of lemon, mint, cayena, cucumber and agave, the texture is more thin than the others which makes it very fresh and easier to be drinked.

For me it’s not the first time I do a detox plan, I’ve tried several detox delivery programs, one very similar to drink6, totally made by juices and another one for seven or ten days made by different typologies of food, no juices but lots of quinoa and cereals.

I had to admit that my purpose at that time was not to detox, I bought that planes because everyone was doing it, and for the 10 days plan I really thought I was going to lose some weight but not, anything, and I didn’t appreciate the fact the maybe it was healthier than a diet.

Now it’s different, I really know what a detox is and I hope that this article will be useful if you are considering a detox plan. The drink6 plan can bring you the energy that you need to face up your daily life, feeling healthier and stronger.

A detox plan like drink6 is really a gift to your body and health.

The interesting thing about drink6 is that the company is run by professionals like the CEO Belen Monederos and partnered with Nutrimedic, a specialized clinic with nutrition experts directed by Dr. Conchita Vidales.

Don’t be surprised that drink6 is the first detox juice brand in Spain, from my experience they worth it, and you if scroll their Instagram profile or their press section with a live storify of all the people posting with the official hashtag and mentions, you will see that I am not the only one thinking that drink6 is the greatest gift you can do for your health.

I think the world is divided into two macro categories:

  • people who love to cook and pack their lunch box for the day after;
  • people who are unable to plan and cook for the next day.

I belong to the second category, I am the one that has cooked the lunch box the night before like two or three times in the whole life. The very first first time I cooked my food box it was so good that I ate it on the same night, even if I had dinner before.

When you live like me, day by day, you might have some problems, because the alternatives of the homemade lunch box are awful. Everytime I go out from the office to hunt something that needs to be quick-tasty-cheap, most of the time I only get two alternatives that are cheap-terrible or healthy-expensive, and during the lunchtime hours it is even difficult to get something, all the best restaurants and cafeterias are always full.

The worst options in the end are always: supermarket, hamburger, kebab and so on …Then comes the best options which might turn to be the most expensive, and the difference is relevant because it might cost the double. I am talking about the food delivery. I am a huge fan of this kind of service and I have tried all the different providers, and to me it can’t be considered an everyday solution, I always order when I am in a kind of emergency with no time and too much work to handle that doesn’t give me the possibility to go out.

wetaca madrid menu

The food delivery service I have just discovered is called WETACA and in my first week of use seems really the perfect match solution of all my problems.

It is a very simple, and innovative way to answer all my problems, and the customer service is super fast.

The order is placed one week before, with all these well prepared food that can last in the fridge for 7 days. The menu is available on the website and changes every week, thursday is the new order day.

You can find a great variety, fish, meat, pasta, rice, from different traditional cuisine, asian, european and american.

The service and the order on the website were very easy to handle. Deciding what I was going to try and order for the first time was not that quick, because there were a lot of interesting choices, and now that I’ve seen three different weeks menu it seems to me that it’s getting always better, I found my top of mind food that I never cooked at home, like the zucchini spaghetti or the mac&cheese.

On Monday morning this huge box rang my bell because that was my delivery choice.

I mean, how cool is to receive a box instead of a bag, it’s like Christmas. What about the funny quote? I loved it!

The packaging is really easy to be stored in the fridge and when you served it you don’t need to change the place, the black microwave dish is elegant and I loved it.

I can firmly state that all the WETACA food I’ve tried so far were really great, don’t even think that you can compare the supermarket gastronomy with them. Every shrimp and every tacos I ate I do believe was a superior quality food, and with that I mean you’ll make a lot of mmmmmmmmmh noise while eating them, because they were so good and not difficult to digest, because we all know that after lunch comes a full time afternoon in the office.

The pad thai for example comes in two separate box and need to be mixed if you want to have a uniform result, because there is a lot of sauce and all your noodle deserve it.

The brownie takes just 30 seconds in the microwave to be ready and it’s the same brownie that we usually order in the hypest american bar and pay three times the WETACA one that let me use the proper word: orgasmatic.

Nothing to add, once you try WETACA you never go back, that’s true, I just did my second order and wait to do the third now that I’ve seen the mac&cheese!

I had the chance to discover a new Madrid, a Madrid that I’ve always admired without knowing nothing about it, while when I was living in Milan I could recognize names and techniques of these works of art.

I am talking about the street art surrounding us everyday in Madrid, especially in the Lavapies area.

Three hour street art tour in Madrid with an exceptional guide, Javier from CoolTourSpain.

We met up just outside the Atocha Station, where the tour usually starts. Javier gave us the big picture immediately, and it was not only about the things that we were going to see as different stops, but dividing the tour experience in three main pillars: history, technique and names. It’s funny because it is not an ordinary tour where you listen the speaker like an audio book with a monotone voice. Javier knows how to entertain and make it easier to learn keeping his audience engaged.

In the first stop of the street art tour in madrid we discovered together “La Neomudejar, Museo y centro de artes de Vanguardia”. This place is Amazing, a real discovery for me that I am always looking for special art exhibitions. And I need a Spanish word to describe it, it’s “raro”, which means unique with something special.

The first pictures here above are all from La Neomudejar, from the outside to the inside, where the main topics developed through the art collection. The freedom of expression that the directors of this Museum have built in these years can give to the invited artists the total freedom to express themselves and their art through taboo topics likes the politics, the media and women.

On the first floor where the permanent collections and the artists in residence laboratories are, I was totally surprised to see a work of art dedicated to Luigi Pirandello. One of the most important Nobels for Literature won in Italy. You can see a picture of a flower wall with different paintings

The street art tour in Madrid moved from Atocha back to Embajadores for the walls of “La Tabacalera”, an old cigarette factory reconverted as cultural center. I’ve already been around the wall and inside the Tabacalera for an exhibition in November, but discover each wall one after another with the sneaky information that Javier have collected is a different thing.

The walls on the outside are called “Muros” and have been painted by renewed artists from Spain and from other countries with the topic of the urban nature in 2016. My favourite is the one by Casassola with this naked woman full of flowers.

From the Tabacalera to Campo de la Cebada I started developing a different sensibility to the techniques and the names of the artists, recognizing them in all the different shapes.

We saw, and you can see in the pictures above so many different techniques, that we might even don’t see while walking, like E1000 (read Emil in Spanish) that uses the gates or the house door to reproduce his name buy colouring online a part of the gate.

Last part of the tour at La Cebada was very interesting too, because it’s a place that I know and walk through everyday, without knowing the names of the artists, or how the Cebada works.

I can’t wait to discover more about the street art in Madrid, also because there will be important festivals in the next months, where all the community of this incredible art will be reunited.
